About

When skiing, it is important to keep your weight forward; leaning in gives you control. The paradox is that very often our thoughts and emotions scream for us to do the opposite, to lean back, away from what brings us anxiety and fear. In life, like in skiing, leaning back is a natural instinct, but too often it serves only to diminish our control and take us in a direction opposite from the one we desire. To move forward, with intention and control, we must 'lean in'. This can be scary, and sometimes, we need some help along the way.

As a counselor, I see individuals of all orientations and in all life stages. I view therapy as a partnership and use interactive and integrative methods with individuals and within relationships to address your concerns and foster emotional well-being. Together we identify solutions to address challenging and painful life circumstances. As a sex therapist, my goal is to help individuals come to a place of peace and acceptance in relation to self, sexuality and gender. I work with adolescents and adults to support and empower personal growth and engender a sense well-being. My work regularly addresses relationship and sexual topics.

As no single therapeutic approach is right for everyone, I have been trained in a range of modalities including Sex Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology from Dartmouth College and a MA in Counseling from the University of Colorado. I have received specialized training as a sex educator and therapist from the University of Michigan and am an ASSECT certified Sex Therapist. I hold licenses in both Minnesota (LPCC) and Wisconsin (LPC) as a professional counselor and am a qualified counselor supervisor in the state of Minnesota.
