My ideal client struggles with anxiety, depression, or issues causing them to feel stuck. I hold a master's degree in Social work with a minor in gerontology(the study of aging). I have been practicing as a therapist for 15 years. I enjoy working with clients who are caring for aging parents as well as their own children. What is your approach to therapy? My approach to therapy is to allow the client to speak about their thoughts and feelings at the moment. I also use Cognitive Behavior Therapy to challenge some of those thoughts that may be causing the client to feel stuck. Then we can search for a way to manage these thoughts and feelings. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? One of my first questions for a client is "what is bringing you here to therapy". At that time we can seek out the goals that they are looking to obtain. I will often assign homework to aid in exploring the issue and learning new coping strategies.
