I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have over 25 years of experience providing therapy to people from all walks of life. I completed my graduate degree from the University of Central Florida in 1991. My early career was spent working with men who were involved in the legal system and who struggled with substance abuse issues. The last 15 years of my career I have spent working with people struggling with substance abuse issues, mental health issues and trauma related issues in an agency setting. I have experience helping people with anxiety and panic, self-esteem issues, depression and trauma related issues.
My approach to counseling could be described as client centered. I believe that the counseling relationship is one of the main ingredients to positive outcomes in therapy. It is my belief that my role as a therapist is to facilitate and provide a relationship that is safe and conducive to self exploration. My approach to counseling uses cognitive behavioral, mindfulness based therapies ,client centered and trauma informed therapies. Through my years of experience I have found these combination of techniques to be very helpful to people quickly achieving their goals in therapy.
