About
I work from a Cognitive Behavioral approach, an REBT approach, and a Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapeutic approach. I use a Psychodynamic perspective as well. I try to incorporate Motivational Interviewing and client-centered approaches at times. We can not change the past; we can control our thoughts, feelings, and actions if we do not like them, as we are only responsible for our happiness. The problem is not the problem. The reaction to the problem is the problem. Change is slow and takes time to effect change, as change is usually a process rather than a one-time event. We sometimes feel worse when we commence therapy, which brings up some painful memories. That said, how we say what we say is vital for effective communication. Let’s talk about where you want to go and figure out how to get there for you to achieve the quality of life you want. It is never too late to be the person you were meant to become.
