Hello! My name is Dasha, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado with 10 years of experience in the field of Behavioral Health. In 2009 I earned my BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Colorado at Denver, and after gaining some real life experience providing substance abuse treatment with court-mandated adults in an outpatient setting, I returned to school at the University of Denver where I received my Masters in Social Work in 2013. Throughout this time, I have provided individual and group therapy, as well as crisis and supportive services to predominantly justice-involved adults. Currently, I work full-time with incarcerated adults, where I help them address a wide range of issues, to include: interpersonal issues; depression; anxiety; trauma; grief and loss; anger management; addiction; and difficulty coping with life changes.

As a therapist I practice from a place of authenticity, compassion, and open-mindedness. My approach to therapy centers around you and what your needs seem to be in the moment. I tend to operate from an Interpersonal Approach, while also incorporating elements from Psychodynamic Theory, Systems Theory, Empowerment Models, Brief-Solution Focus, and Cognitive Behavioral related therapies.

I believe you are the expert of your own life. And yes, even the experts need a little help sometimes. My role as your therapist is to help you work through the challenges you are currently facing with compassion and open curiosity, as you discover the answers that hold meaning to you. I am committed to providing a safe, empowering, and non-judgmental environment where we can explore these new insights, build upon your strengths, and develop the tools you need to navigate the ever-changing tides of this human experience.
