About
I believe that my approach to therapy sets me apart from other therapists. I strive to create a casual and friendly atmosphere where clients feel safe and comfortable, and where we can even have some laughs along the way. While therapy can certainly involve difficult and emotional work, it is also important to be able to transition back into the present and find moments of joy and levity. Importantly, I have personally struggled with and worked through many issues, so I understand firsthand what it is like to be in a dark place and how to find your way out. I have nearly 20 years of experience working with a variety of issues, and I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma and abuse. My training allows me to help you understand what your body is trying to tell you, and how your nervous system has changed to keep you safe. In treatment, we work on ways for you to have your feelings and still be yourself. You’ll learn to develop boundaries with others, trust for yourself and others, and have new ways to manage the overwhelm. Feelings aren’t the enemy. When we learn to listen and understand what our body needs us to hear, we develop a better relationship and find it easier to be well mentally, emotionally and physically. It would be my honor to get to know you and help you along this leg of your journey. I look forward to hearing from you, just reach out for a free consultation to see if we are a good fit for therapy.
