The first half of my career was spent in two hospitals providing various services to the inpatient and outpatient population working on medical, surgical, ICU, Burn, and specialty services as well as inpatient physical rehabilitation, substance abuse, and psychiatric units. The second has included counseling in health clinics, in-home, primary and secondary schools, and the incarcerated populations. A unique experience that I have had that has been quite helpful in understanding controlling environments is related to my involvement in a religious cult as a young adult. The mind controlling environment that I experienced is structurally the same as is experienced in domestic violence, kidnapping, prisoner of war, and any hyper-controlling milieu which has afforded myself with a unique skill set to treat those so affected.
