About
Finding the right therapist can be a challenge, so here is a little more information to help you make an informed decision. ?I have over 7 years of direct experience and education specializing in clinical counseling. I am the founder of Opal Counseling Services. I’ve had a passion for psychology, neuroscience, and helping others through life experiences since I was in high school. I took a psychology 101 class in my first year of college and never turned back. I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in child welfare and went on to graduate with my master’s degree in psychology, with a focus on clinical counseling, from the University of West Florida. I grew my clinical expertise through a pre-master’s internship at a teen shelter striving for reunification of families, a post master’s internship at a long-term state mental health hospital for stabilization of severe mental illness, and post-licensure outpatient mental health/ addiction treatment for my community. I absolutely love getting to genuinely know my clients. I want to see the complete you and walk with you through treatment as we uncover the path to your well-being. No one I have ever worked with is too much or not enough. Despite doing this as my career, it is not for the money, it is for the hidden smiles and the brilliance of your potential. I have no issue sitting with you in your distress and when you are ready, we will put in the effort for honest change.
