About

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 10 years experience specializing in trauma recovery. I love helping my clients manage overwhelming emotions, change self-destructive habits, improve personal relationships, and feel more in control of their lives.

The treatment approach I use integrates cognitive processing therapy (CPT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I find that CPT helps us our understand our experience, CBT helps us respond to our experience, and DBT helps us change our experience. These interventions involve a lot of writing out your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that we can notice patterns and find alternative choices. This is why weekly Live Chat sessions, along with sending messages and completing worksheets in between sessions, are a perfect modality for this treatment approach.

A collaborative therapeutic relationship is the catalyst for change. I bring my years of education and training, professional experience, personal experience, and genuine empathy to create safety. You bring yourself, exactly as you are, to create authenticity. Together, we build a brave space in which awareness deepens, empowerment grows, and meaningful change happens.

While the therapeutic relationship is a professional one, it's still important to me that you experience me as a real person with genuine interest and care for you, so I'll share a bit about myself here. I grew up in New Orleans and have lived here most of my life. I have a BA in sociology and women's studies from Loyola University and a master's in social work from Tulane University. I started my social work career as a Disaster Housing Case Manager for folks impacted by Hurricane Katrina, then after grad school I worked for the District Attorney as a Domestic Violence Victim Advocate and Counselor. I then spent 3 years as a community-based therapist before taking a hiatus to dance professionally in New York and get my yoga teacher certification. Now I work full-time in clinical private practice, and I also perform with local community theatre and dance companies. I share my home with 2 dogs, a goldador named Bella and a chihuahua-mix named Rex, and a pet snake named Kaa. I like to take road trips, and most of my vacations are spent in a campground or at a music festival.

I know how much courage it takes to open up to someone new and let them see who you are and who you want to become. I would be honored to join you on your journey to your best self!
