About
Hello and welcome!
My name is Danielle DeFrancesco and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of North Carolina.
And similar to you, I have faced my share of mental health struggles throughout the course of my lifetime... from grief and stress to major depression and crippling panic attacks, my personal and professional experience has been diverse. As a human being, I understand not only the bravery it takes to face these issues, but also the loneliness and pain that can stem from trying to do so alone. As your counselor, I promise to walk with you through these struggles and to help you reach your goals whether seemingly small or unbearably large.
In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am also a Master's Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Board Certified Tele Mental Health Counselor (BC-TMH), Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC), and Certified 200 hour Yoga instructor. Whereas others have not been formally trained in online counseling, I have taken the time necessary and completed the BC-TMH certification in order to provide you with the best experience possible whether through messaging or live video. I take your time seriously and intend to address challenges the same way I would if we were face to face.
Regarding my experience, I have worked with clients of all ages and from all walks of life. I specialize in treating a variety of mood and personality disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, histrionic PD, borderline PD, and many more. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma, family of origin and childhood issues, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, addiction and substance abuse issues, family dynamics and substance use within the family unit, LGBTQI related issues, relationship issues (familial and intimate), struggles with parenting, stress and fluctuating self esteem, spirituality, sleep disorders and neurological conditions (ex: narcolepsy, ADHD, Autism Spectrum), and life transitions (moves, job changes, loss, etc.). If I have not listed your struggle in this brief introduction, fear not, anything you bring to our space is OKAY and will be approached without judgment, and with compassion and professionalism.
Whether you prefer to spend the session talking, enjoy being lead through a brief meditation, or like the concept of a weekly homework assignment, I will work with you to introduce techniques and modalities that fit your preference and that will help you grow to your maximum potential.
Congratulations on taking this first step towards growth and recovery, and I hope to meet you very soon.
