My name is Danielle Schehrer and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. I am originally from Wisconsin and have a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been working as a counselor in private practice for over six years. The majority of my early career experiences included working with children, teens, and families involved in child services. I currently work with individuals struggling with childhood trauma/abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, parenting issues (including parenting children with disabilities), relationship issues, improving couple/family communication, family conflict, and stressful life transitions.

I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, which involves examining the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is important to me to establish specific goals and make measurable progress each session towards reaching those goals. Establishing safety, confidentiality, and a non-judgmental atmosphere is my priority as a counselor. We will explore together what barriers stand in the way of you living life to the fullest, practice new & effective coping skills, and seek reliable supports in your community.
