About
My name is Danette Cantrell and for over 15 years I’ve had the privilege of helping people find hope, healing, and meaning in therapy, especially during times of transition or seasons of difficulty in their lives. I specialize in treating depression and anxiety, trauma, and phase of life changes. I work with adults, families, children and teenagers. With all the increased challenges and turmoil in the world today many people have been feeling overwhelmed, depressed, anxious or alone and recognizing the need for prioritizing their mental health. Others come to therapy wanting to know how to cope with stress better, with a desire for improved relationships and communication, or are looking for support as they navigate life changes. Some are seeking help for their child or teenager who is struggling. There is hope for change, healing, and growth through the therapeutic process. I provide empathic support and assistance as we work together to identify your personal strengths, identify past hurts and traumas that need healing, uncover negative patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and build coping skills and strategies that will help you navigate life’s difficulties as you work towards health and healing, discovering the person you want to be and creating the life you want to live. I work from a strength based perspective and believe that therapy is a partnership where I am able to come alongside you and provide support as you find hope and healing. In therapy I provide a mixture of insight oriented therapy and cognitive behavioral solutions. I am a certified trauma focused therapist. Together we’ll discover how you can use your unique strengths and insights learned in therapy to create an emotionally healthy and happy life that is true to your values and personal goals. Regardless of what brings you into therapy it would be a privilege for me to partner with you as you journey towards health and happiness in your life.
