Hi there, I'm Dakota! My name is Dakota Meza and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Riverside County, California and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with young adults, adolescents, and pre-teens and I specialize in depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, and crisis intervention. I use Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to inspire hope, increase self-confidence, and help motivate my clients to reach their goals to start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy is providing a warm, non-judgmental, and safe space for my clients. I most frequently use Solution Focused Therapy modalities to help clients see within themselves their own strengths, skills, and abilities to create a better life for themselves. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modalities to encourage clients to challenge distorted thinking patterns and behaviors that may be preventing them from living their best lives and inspire different perspectives and more effective coping skills to promote their overall well-being. My focus I typically work with clients who consist of children, teenagers, and young adults who are undergoing stress due to life transitions, experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety, and/or have a history of trauma. I am passionate about helping children, youth, and adults learn to find their own voice, identify and express their feelings, find who they are and what they love about themselves. My communication style The tone/environment I aim to create in therapy sessions for clients is a warm, non-judgmental, calm, respectful, and safe space to promote trust and comfort. I enjoy using humor sometimes in sessions to help clients see painful life events and situations from less threatening perspectives and help take anxiety and guilt out of difficult circumstances. I care about the well-being of my clients and I enjoy acknowledging client successes when progress is made towards goals.
