About
Cynthia Glasgow, LMFT (41605). When we work together in therapy, I want you to feel seen, heard, and validated, so you can have permission to be your true and authentic self. My style is to meet you where you are at, emotionally and psychologically, and we will work together to formulate goals for you to get what you want and need from therapy. My approach You may want to work through something that happened in the past, to create sense or meaning out of a difficult experience. Or, you might want to focus on the future and the pleasure and joy you want to create in your life. I am here to support you, and to help you grow into your best self. In therapy, I often utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing to assist my clients in processing, evaluating, and growing. Mindfulness practices are also often a positive addition to treatment. Therapy is not only a process of overcoming challenges, but it's also about identifying your strengths and developing strategies for you to pull on your unique internal resources to overcome challenges, and most importantly, to create the life you want. I look forward to being a part of your process toward living each day at your best. My focus I have been providing therapy and managing mental health programs as a Clinical Director for 25 years working with adults, adolescents, and young adults in private practice and in various community mental health programs. I have managed programs & therapists working with foster families, issues related to abuse, as well as a wide range of diagnoses. I also have experience related to mental health services provided in our school systems to students and their families via the Individual Education Program (IEP) process (Orange County, K-12). My communication style In sessions, I strive to provide opportunity for honest and open communication. I hope to provide an environment that feels safe for my clients to express
