About
I'm, Crystal a talk therapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. I believe that individuals are inclined toward personal growth, and a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and compassion can allow individuals to realize that capability. Through this foundation of trust, I provide individuals with a space to explore how their past impact their current realities. Together, we find ways to move forward and live a meaningful and fulfilling life. I graduated from the Family Institute at Northwestern University. I am a social justice-oriented therapist who practices from a mix of person-centered, psychodynamic, and multicultural approaches. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical behavior Therapy (DBT) that helps by teaching skills to manage emotions, handle stress, improve relationships, and live mindfully. As a Latina therapist, I have seen the stigma around mental health. I understand the importance of having culturally informed and culturally humble practitioners. My passion is in providing culturally competent care, empathy, and understanding in order to foster confidence and healing. I have worked with adults who experience anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and the effects of trauma. I have helped individuals struggling with low self-esteem, hopelessness, fear, panic, isolation, anger, and feeling stuck. I have seen these same individuals grow, reach their goals, experience joy, and live meaningful lives. It is possible to experience happiness, acceptance, and success while also experiencing pain, mental issues, and uncertainty. My goal is to help you learn how to get there.
