It is with great honor to introduce myself to you. I hail from Shreveport, Louisiana born and raised. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 11 years of experience, including internships. I obtained a majority of my psychotherapy experience as Lead Therapist at an Intensive Outpatient Program where I conducted both individual and group therapies for 8 years. I've worked with issues ranging from severe chronic depression and anxiety/panic disorders, dual diagnoses, to family and relationship/marital issues. I moved on to become Clinical Director for another organization for 3 years where I primarily conducted initial clinical assessments for clients and matched them with growing counselors within that company. While working with both companies, I'm more than grateful to have worked side by side with psychiatrists from many backgrounds because it definitely increased my knowledge of psychotropic medications. I'm currently in Private Practice and my company's name is It Begins with You Counseling Services, LLC

I've come to find that I enjoy working with clients who's issues stem from low self-esteem, low self-confidence/self-worth, anxiety, social anxiety, depression, personal and professional goal achievement, and couples/marriages experiencing communication issues.

I approach the counseling process from a non-judgmental stance. I provide, support, warmth, encouragement ,and invoke humor throughout sessions. I personally enjoy bringing humor into the process because life can become so challenging and causes us to experience unhealthy tension and stress. Humor not only decreases those symptoms, it also allows us to laugh at ourselves and is a reminder to not take ourselves so seriously. I'm more prone to use what we call in our field Cognitive-behavioral therapy approach because I believe we show up in the world based on how we think and feel which leads to our behaviors, positive or negative. I enjoy seeing clients challenge themselves with applying new thinking and behaviors and developing the perception that challenges can be seen as opportunities instead of something to fear. Even though I'm a stickler for the CBT approach, I still approach each client as unique and meet the client where he/she is currently and tailor therapy approaches that best fit you, the client.

As we work together, we will work together as a team to explore and define your presenting problems, develop realistic/workable goals to improve your quality of life, and work in a systematic fashion towards realizing those goals.
