Are you struggling to manage the difficult and complex role of parenthood? Is your child exhibiting difficult behavior that is negatively impacting their and your family’s day to day life? Do you feel like you are unsure of how to best support your child? Is your child or adolescent experiencing barriers to leading a happy, healthy life? I primarily work with children, adolescents, and families, specifically children and adolescents that are exhibiting behavior that is a barrier to their success or the success of the family unit. I believe that every behavior has a purpose behind it. With the help of the client / parents, I work to understand the function of the behavior then help children and adolescents to acquire the necessary skills to have their needs met in a more appropriate way. Additionally, I work closely with parents to understand why their child is exhibiting a certain behavior. After understanding the behavior, I support parents with using opportunity to practice this skill development and incorporate various solution-focused interventions to reinforce positive behavior and decreasing negative behavior. I believe that rapport and the therapeutic relationship is critical in order to be successful with providing support to a client and family. I thrive on incorporating creative, unique, and idiosyncratic interventions to make the therapeutic process meaningful for the individual client and/or family.
