I have been working in the mental health field since 2008 where I began working at an addictions treatment and inpatient psychiatric facility. I have over 10 years experience working with adults with addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns. I have spent time working with children under the age of three, focusing on work with their parents to manage parenting concerns, employment and socioeconomic concerns as well as educational concerns. I have had the opportunity to spend a portion of my career working in individual therapy with a focus on clients with severe and persistent mental illness functioning within the community. Fortunately, I have had the good fortune to work in a day treatment program, managing a caseload of clients, assisting in additional resources and referrals while running multiple groups a day with focus on self esteem, anger management, addictions and cognitive behavioral therapy. For the last three years I have been working in Psychiatric Emergency and Crisis Services where I have been working with individuals within the community, assessing them during times of crisis and struggling and working collaboratively with clients, families and community providers to provide next steps and appropriate referrals for ongoing treatment and stabilization.
