About

I am a professional social worker licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland. During the past 15 years, I have provided counseling and psychotherapy to a multicultural population. I have worked with individuals, couples, families seeking counseling both in-person and online. Through out my career, I have had the opportunity of treating children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, in-home, residential, forensic facilities and medical emergency rooms. I am trained to work in crisis and pressured situation that require calm and friendly approach. I have utilized a variety of interventions including motivational interviewing, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. I pride myself in providing great counseling related to being flexible on world views, strong understanding of multicultural issues in clinical practice, genuine interest in connecting with others, utilize self reflection as a key component to counseling, ability to actively listen on multiple levels and nonjudgmental with a great sense of humor.
