About

Are you wanting to reach out for help, but keep telling yourself you ‘should’ be able to solve everything on your own? Are you pressuring yourself to muscle your way out of depression or anxiety? Then why would we each be sharing Earth with more than 7 BILLION other people if we are supposed to handle everything all by ourselves? I believe it is because we ARE meant to help each other! Since graduating in 1986 with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and then earning my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1990, I count myself lucky to have worked with the many adults, children, teenagers, families, and couples whose paths have crossed mine. I am delighted when ‘my people’ learn to recognize their strengths or learn new ways of managing anxiety and depression to help alleviate emotional pain, or when they find purpose as they recover from losses or changes in their lives, or when they discover ways to connect more deeply again with their loved ones as they develop more constructive ways of communicating. It is particularly heartwarming when one of the people I originally worked with when they were a teenager or young adult returns to me as they navigate a later life stage. I have an eclectic approach to therapy with heavy use of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I have learned much from the many hundreds of clients I have listened to over the years. I am better for having known each one of them. I encourage you to stay on this path as you allow yourself to reach out for help. You are welcome to call me if you have any questions. May you take good care of yourself.
