Hi there, I'm Colleen! Hi my name is Colleen Krinard, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker psychotherapist. My approach to therapy is one of partnering with you on your learning wellness journey. My goal is to meet you in your learning style and support you in making meaning out of what is unfolding in your life, to learn and practice skills and tools together, and assist you to form a deeper connection with yourself. My approach My foundational approach is strengths based and solution focused. This is helpful both for short-term issues, and also for anxiety, depression, and PTSD trauma work. I utilize insight-focused meaning-making supportive discussions, cognitive behavioral approaches, somatic awareness, trauma-informed self-reflective mindfulness, inner-child parts work, EMDR, and also deeper explorations of cultural, ethnic, and spirituality factors in your life. I firmly believe that change happens with repetition and in baby steps, so I ask my clients to do 'homework' practicing one new skill or tool each week, and to keep a log. Over the years my clients have repeated expressed appreciation for this approach as they begin to experience change and growth unfold in their daily lives. My focus My primary focus is working with adult women's issues including anxiety, depression, empowerment, codependency and trauma, with a sensitivity for how these are playing out in your everyday life experiences in the home, workplace, school, and personal, inter-personal and social life. My communication style My clients often describe me as warm and caring, intuitive and insightful. I want to hear from your about the details of what is happening in your everyday life so we can understand it better together. I am interactive, I enjoy asking clarifying questions, providing psychoeducation, and teaching and practicing new tools and skills together in session. The feedback I receive from clients is that they feel heard, understood, supported, and assisted in their journeys.
