Although most of us prefer routine because it gives us a false sense of control, without change, there is no growth. Without growth our lives become stagnant and we do not realize our full potential or adapt to necessary changes or losses. Though we all experience changes we do not all adapt in the same way. Some see change as an opportunity for adventure. Some see change as a frightening challenge. And finally, others are totally incapacitated and freeze when presented with choices or opportunities to change or grow. Initiating change or adjusting to unexpected change often requires courage and perseverance. As a professional therapist, I provide a safe environment and support for clients to explore their options, gain insight and learn new skills. This may include improving one’s motivation, setting goals, or learning new coping or social skills. Years of professional training and experience gave me the luxury of having many tools in my toolbox to assist each of my clients in a personal and professional way. Whether with me or another therapist, it is my hope that you have a positive therapeutic experience that will allow you to get “unstuck” or resolve issues that prevent you from living your best life.
