Insurance companies we are registered with to submit claims and receive payment as out-of-network providers include Empire NYSHIP and Aetna. Colleen specializes in Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused therapy, MBCT, DBT, cognitive-behavioral therapy - helping adults and adolescents shift towards real change that can be both practical and deep. She has years of experience training others in mindfulness, stress-anxiety reduction, meditation and somatic (body) practices. A former teacher and professional actor, she’s a mother, artist, and long-time meditator. People who work with Colleen describe her as “accessible, warm, nonjudgmental & compassionate." She provides a sense of safety, bringing insight, patience, humor and presence in relation with others. Her expertise and down-to-earth approach help others navigate career, school, dating, relationships, family dynamics, trauma, habits/patterns/addictions and grief/loss. A NY and NJ Licensed Master Social Worker, Colleen holds an advanced certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness. Additional advanced certifications in trauma, anxiety, compulsion/addiction, mind-body medicine, meditation, mindful communication, CBT/DBT, yoga and expressive arts therapies. A psychotherapist and coach, Colleen works in private practice, community mental health and wellness. A lecturer, workshop presenter and mindfulness expert, she uses her experience in such varied settings as hospitals, schools, clinics, arts organizations, disability programs, the entertainment industry, and business and community programs to inform her work when helpful, and to meet you just where you are.
