Hi there, I'm Claudia! My name is Claudia Covarrubias, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in San Diego, California working with clients statewide via telehealth. I am passionate about working with adolescents, individuals, and families. Some of my specialties include depression, anxiety & stress, self-esteem, women's issues, communication & intimacy issues, difficult life transitions, acculturation, and college stressors. I am also bilingual and provide services in Spanish. My primary approach to therapy is integrative and client-centered. It is my strong belief that a therapeutic relationship can lead to insights and change. I encourage a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment where we can work together to help develop coping skills to allow you to overcome the obstacles in your life. I have found that my approach is a good fit for teens, young adults, women, and single parents. I often work with clients who have anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship concerns. My communication style is calm, caring, and personable. I strive to help my clients feel comfortable talking to me about anything. I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. I decided to become a therapist because I enjoyed helping people. I have always been drawn to helping people through difficult times. My passion is to help individuals learn more about themselves, grow, and make changes that improve their lives. I normally start by building trust, establishing a therapeutic relationship, and then working together with my clients to help them establish their treatment goals and help them track their progress. During our first session together, we will spend the majority of the session talking about how you've been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand the ways you have been feeling.
