Hi there, I'm Clare! Hi there, I'm Clare. I am a licensed psychologist who is passionate about helping clients overcome the daily struggles we all deal with in life, that are often related to ongoing issues. My goal is to assist with your personal growth and healing and to learn better techniques for coping. I am also a licensed physical therapist so I believe in a holistic approach that incorporates mind and body. My approach My approach is client-centered meaning I will individualize your therapy according to your personal needs, without judgment or bias. True listening in an empathic supportive manner is important to me and I believe that most clients benefit from a trauma-informed approach. I work collaboratively with my clients to use the most effective modalities that I have been trained in including CBT, EMDR, EFT, solution-focused, IFS, DBT, etc. as well as somatic approaches that include the body. My focus I typically work with adjustment disorders but also eating disorders, anxiety and depression, OCD, trauma, relationship issues/couples, childhood abuse, addiction of all kinds, and ADHD/ADD. My communication style I create a calm safe environment/sanctuary where my clients feel free to discuss whatever they want/need in a relaxed atmosphere of non-judgment and acceptance. My journey to therapy I decided to go into therapy after working for several years as a physical therapist. Working with patients with physical disability and chronic pain made me realize that so much of recovery is having someone who is willing to really listen to you. Taking the time to listen to my patients' stressors and complications of daily life, made me realize these all impact the ability to heal. So many people just need to have someone really listen to them with care and concern which made me want to do more of that kind of work.
