About

Greetings,

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor for the state of Texas. As an introduction to my counseling, I have previously worked in a college setting, as well as a psychiatric hospital. More recently, I worked in an Intensive Outpatient Program that provided a wide range of experience with issues that can be related to anxiety, depression, stress management, couple’s issues, addiction, interpersonal growth, life transitions and LGBT issues. In these settings, I have also gained knowledge on tools that can help a person achieve their potential.

My main mode of therapy is a collaborative one. I work from a holistic standpoint, in that I look at various aspects of a person’s life, such as their family, career, friends, etc., and how they fit together to form the individual. I am also a “person-centered” therapist, in that my approach to the client is to provide an empathetic and non-judgmental viewpoint that will help a person achieve their potential. I also focus on a “cognitive” approach, such as examining how our thoughts can influence our emotions and our actions.

My main purpose as a therapist is to help the person come to the realization that they have the tools and experience needed in order to gain a greater understanding of themselves. When paired with coping skills, I find that clients have a greater understanding of their sense of self.

Please note that mode of counseling that is being offered through these services is different than regular "talk therapy." The asynchronous nature of the platform is more alike to "text messaging," in that is possible to respond more immediately at times, while there may be a delay times. I do endeavor to reply to messages within a 24 hour period during the weekday and 48 hours during the weekend. If there is a delay, I may be attending to other clients, or fulfilling other professional/personal responsibilities. I do try to maintain normal business hours, along with some open hours in the early evening. Please refer to my schedule for times that I am usually available.

If there is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room for immediate assistance.

I thank you for your consideration and I look forward to working with you in the future.
