About
Christine (she/her/hers) graduated with her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She obtained her BA in Social Work in 1997 and has worked in the field as a caring professional for over 20 years. Christine’s experience has included working with young children, adolescents, teens, and adults. She has held roles within child welfare agencies, case management, and a group facilitator in a county mental health agency. Christine has enjoyed working with all ages but primarily has worked with adults and is passionate about working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, or other mental illnesses and helping them on their life’s journey. Christine has completed the Gottman Method Couples Therapy – Level 1 training and is currently completing the Gottman Method Couples Therapy- Level 2 training. She has also completed the 3-day advanced training in the assessment and treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) through Postpartum Support International. Christine is a member of Postpartum Support International. Christine will be taking the (PMAD) certification exam in the near future. Christine also has experience in grief and loss work specific to miscarriage, stillbirth and infant loss and has completed The Perinatal Loss - A Framework for Healing certificate course. Christine believes in the importance of creating a supportive and safe environment so her clients feel at ease when working with her. Christine enjoys working with diverse and marginalized populations. She is also certified in Contemporary Theory in Mental Health Services since 2018. She offers skills, tools, and resources to help those to overcome certain obstacles one may face as a sense of empowerment so they are able to move forward with their daily lives. Christine recognizes that each person and situation is unique. She is drawn to the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy as well as mindfulness.
