About

Hi, my name is Christine Terry LCSW (CA73509). I have been in the field of mental health for over 10 years and fully licensed for 8. I have an eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing multiple therapeutic modalities to fit the needs of the client. We always figure out a way. My approach It's important to me that no matter what the goal or motivation for seeking therapy that when you leave a session you feel seen and heard. That you feel like you have a solid plan for walking through your circumstances. Life can be a challenge, but therapy doesn't have to be. My focus Most of my experience is working with women with severe PTSD and self-harm behaviors. Whatever you perceive as your ugly, it is safe with me and you are no longer alone. In addition to PTSD, I have worked with individuals with adjustment concerns, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and a range of diagnoses. I work with the human in front of me, whatever that brings. My communication style My goal in each session is to make sure you leave feeling seen and heard. I'm an empathic listener, direct, and with a sense of humor. I'm another human, just like you. My journey to mental healthcare My job in college was the "computer lab lady" at a local middle school. I started out wanting to be a teacher. The kids on disciplinary/in-house suspension would come to the lab at the end of the week to play games. I'd sit, play the game with them, and talk about whatever was on their heart. That was all it took for me. There is no greater feeling than knowing you made a difference in someone's life. It fills the hope cup and keeps me doing this work. My goals for you Your goals are your own. You tell me what they are or we can explore that together. My first session with you The first session is always an intake session. We get to know each other, you get a sense of me, I listen to what brought you to therapy and see if I feel I can help you.
