About
I have 12 years of experience as a licensed therapist. I have worked in inpatient hospitals, crisis clinics, family agencies, and private practice. I am lucky to have had a variety of experiences working with all kinds of people and a wide range of mental health concerns. Currently, my focus is on helping people feel more grounded. What does being-grounded mean? I believe it is a foundational skill, helping you manage whatever life throws at you. Here are few examples: feeling connected and calmer; in alignment with your authentic self; less reactive and more proactive; able to be truly present; increased compassion for yourself and others; able to listen to your own inner wisdom with confidence and increased ability to communicate authentically with your loved ones.
I consider myself a holistic systems therapist. As such, I have a unique approach to mental health. I focus on attending to the mind, body and spirit (or higher self). I find the holistic approach is more effective for those who are searching for a different path. I use a variety of holistic modalities to help people feel more grounded. I am a certified yoga instructor and training in trauma-informed yoga through Sundara Yoga Institute, as well as a mindfulness coach. I also use energy psychology as emotional freedom technique, heartmath and energy yoga techniques (working with a person's energy system). I combine Eastern traditions with Western psychology, along with energy psychology, to help address self-compassion, anxiety, acute stress, fears, depression, burnout, life transitions, family of origin concerns, grief, low self-esteem along with a variety of issues that may be impacting your overall wellness.
We do not live in a bubble! Our wellness is impacted by the overall system in which we live. We all are impacted by our family of origin, family, society, culture, sexual orientation, and gender. All play a major role in our identity and the way our identity impacts our ability to feel grounded. I am an open-minded non-judgmental person who strives for inclusion. I'm a down to earth person with a good sense of humor. Thank you and I look forward to working with you.
I can schedule one live session per week for 30-45 minutes and I respond one to two times within a 24-30 hour period via the message board in your client portal.
I do not post my open live sessions on Find A Therapist. We will pick a time for our live session based on the week. :)
I also offer yoga mindfulness packages for mental health.
