About
Hello, My name is Christina Stewart. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, having received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. I have been licensed with the State of California since 2015. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages. I also have experience working with adults to assist in their creating positive life changes. I find satisfaction in working with senior citizens as they navigate life transitions. My goal is to provide unconditional positive regard to individuals and families in a supportive environment to facilitate positive advancements toward each person's personal growth and happiness. My therapeutic approach is Client-Centered and Solution Focused. With guidance, I believe individuals have within themselves the ability to create positive life change. My current focus of practice is working with adults experiencing a multitude of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I work with couples looking to strengthen their relationship or who may be overcoming obstacles. I have experience working with children in relation to emotional and behavioral issues. I work in an environment of unconditional positive regard meaning as a therapist; I am objective and nonjudgemental with a client. My goal is to assist individuals in self-acceptance while recognizing the attributes they hold. I became a therapist because I enjoy communicating with people and guiding them in achieving goals for a fulfilling life. I find satisfaction in helping people heal from life occurrences, reduce stress and anxiety, and to find joy within themselves and their families. At the first session, I listen to what has brought a client into therapy. Goal setting is a collaboration between the therapist and the client. The client will usually be able to describe what they are ultimately looking for in therapy.
