About
Welcome and congratulations on taking this giant leap into your healing and achieving your goals. You are showing up for yourself in a grand way, so please take a moment to thank yourself for your dedication to you. My name is Christy Song, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Texas, which is a fancy way of saying I see the world through the lens of relationships. Your relationship with whatever is ailing you is a pesky one and one you'd like to resolve. I believe that I have the tools to help. I received my Associate of the Arts in Psychology from San Antonio College; from there, I transferred to The University of Texas at San Antonio, studying Psychology and Sociology and attaining a Bachelor of Arts. During this time, I worked at a domestic violence shelter providing support to survivors and a crisis hotline to offer support to those in need of crisis intervention. My training as a therapist began at Our Lady of the Lake University, where I obtained a Master of Science in Psychology and learned specifically about Single Session Psychotherapy. During this time, I also interned at the Rape Crisis Center of San Antonio and BCFS. Finally, I moved to Florida, working in an inpatient facility to support those with severe and persistent mental illnesses. My career then moved into working with high-risk youths in the juvenile justice system. Further work included supporting foster children and families and working in a substance misuse treatment center before transitioning into private practice. Academically, my work centers on burnout and mental well-being. Professionally, I specialize in trauma, LGBTQIA+ populations, non-monogamy, and fetish/kink relationships and practices. Additionally, I am skilled in working with depression and anxiety.
