My name is Christi DeFrancesco, and I have been practicing for over 11 years as a licensed clinical social worker in Virginia. My therapeutic background began 17 years ago working in an inpatient hospital serving those in crisis. Since then, I have served as a therapist in an inpatient setting serving both youth and adults with chronic mental illness, self harm, suicidal thoughts, and those who have experienced trauma.

I believe that everyone needs a safe space to come, let their guard down, and talk about their challenges and successes without judgment. Serving others is my calling and my practice affords me the opportunity to do that. My goal is not to fix your problems, my goal is to help you understand how and why you may be feeling things so intensely. Our work will be collaborative. I will ask challenging questions and you may sometimes be frustrated. Therapy is not a straight and narrow path, but it is rich and full of self discovery and reward. As we work through these intense emotions and processes, you will find that you are better able to manage stress, feelings of discomfort, and enjoy life pleasures more.
