About
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT) and I have been working in the counselling field since 1999. I have experience conducting individual and couple therapy, in-office and online, both residential and outpatient settings with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship and marital issues, and a wide range of challenges including grief/loss, insomnia, addiction, trauma, abuse, panic and anxiety disorder, as well as personal growth, adjustment issues, and crisis.
I mostly tend to draw from the person-centred approach when in a therapeutic relationship with my clients. This means that I make consistent efforts to meet each client "where they are" and to serve as a catalyst to each individual who is progressing through their unique process of self-discovery and self-identification.
In my work with clients, I use some leading psychological modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also utilize Emotional-Focused Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) approaches.
My Educational Credentials include:
- Licensed by the State of California, Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
- Pepperdine University Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology
-Pepperdine University Masters of Arts in Psychology
-Pepperdine University Doctorate in Global Leadership and Change (PhD Candidate)
- EMDR Professional Training (EMDR Certificate)
- International Board of Coaches and Practitioners (Clinical Hypnotherapy Certificate)
-CBT Professional Training
-Motivational Interviewing Training
I enjoy and feel honoured to be a part of someone’s personal experiences, as our problems and feelings are unique and yet we are all one and together. This is the way I like to approach my sessions – as a team, addressing challenges together to become free from judgment, criticism, and pain; to change the negative perceptions that do not serve us well, and to live a joyful and peaceful life.
For my professional growth, I continuously read related literature, keep myself up to date with the ethical and legal guidelines in the field, and the latest research, and attend conferences and training.
I believe in creating a space where we can have difficult conversations, work on resolving issues and collaborate on treatment plans that are tailored to your personal needs and experiences. It takes a lot of courage and motivation to reach out for additional support. I am here for you and thank you for trusting me with your utmost personal dilemmas.
