Hi there, I'm Chonell! Aloha, my name is Chonell Candace Woode and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California, but proud to provide therapeutic and support services to the people of Hawaii via telehealth. I specialize in working with adults and our military populations in areas of anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, and substance abuse. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the unique needs of each client I work with. I most frequently employ modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing, and Strength-Based Therapy that help me and the client forge a strong foundation of understanding, respect, and allow us to work together to discover the path forward. My focus I have discovered that my style and approach are a good fit for young and seasoned adults, to include our active duty military personnel and their families who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions, societal pressures and circumstances involving unwarranted tribulations. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, and states of existential crisis. My communication style I work to support my clients navigate through these transitions and stressful periods to build skills that bring self-awareness, allow them to feel better about themselves, and help them construct a strong internal core of confidence in their continued life’s journey. My journey to therapy I decided to become a clinical therapist because I always felt that I possessed a propensity to connect and help someone feel better by just listening. I was often sought out by my peers, family, and strangers because I could help bring self-reflection and positivity. This natural ability was enriched through my personal journey of becoming a seasoned military spouse who weathered through some arduous periods of life. Being able to employ my natural ability, experience, and knowledge fulfills my passion.
