Hello, I have been a social worker for 25 years ad have worked in the field of social work for 25 years. I enjoy working with people and especially with young people. Most of my experience was with children and youth at The Children Center in Detroit, Michigan. I worked in the Bereavement Department for one year. It was very hard for me due to the many losses I experienced in one yea; my mother, sister and father. But I learned to lay aside my personal feelings and use my grief issues to help others and it was very helpful. One year later I was promoted to the Child Sexual Abuse Program. Parents and children reported that the services I provided was beneficial to client and parent(s). Young people love to be heard and they should be and most of the time they will be share. I try to use subject matters they are interested and important to them and soon they open up and discuss other information about their life issues and situation they want help with. Teens are great, wonderful and creative and I enjoy seeing them improve and coping with their decisions to make changes in their lives.
