Hello! My name is Cheryl and I’m glad that you are taking this courageous step forward with seeking support – you are absolutely worth it!
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the helping profession. I am also an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Health Coach. I strongly believe in the mind/body connection and my therapeutic approach incorporates both modalities. My background is diverse and includes mental health and chemical dependency counseling and health, career and academic coaching. I consider myself to be open, honest, and non-judgmental and believe that a sense of humor is an essential component of dealing with life’s challenges (and like to sprinkle a little of this into sessions every now and then!)
I’m originally from Upstate New York and have lived in the Southeast the past 15 years. I love the sun and the ocean! I have a master’s degree in Counseling from the State University of New York at Oneonta and have also received advanced training in health coaching and mindfulness.
Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals, I create a tailored approach for each person and situation. I am person-centered and offer acceptance, empathy, and guidance as you work on personal growth, positive change, and adopt new cognitive behavioral (mind body!) strategies that align your thoughts with your behaviors and actions.
