About
Hi there, I'm Cheryl! Hello, my name is Cheryl Babb and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I'm interested in helping you become your best, authentic self - whatever that looks like! Therapy is about relationships -- the relationship between therapist and client as well as the relationship the client has with themselves and others. My goal as a therapist is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood and to take that capacity and generalize it throughout your lived experience. My approach I will be your partner in your quest for emotional wellness. Together we'll set goals that focus on exploring what is keeping you down, stuck, and preventing you from living an authentic, meaningful life driven by passion, purpose, and clarity. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience so I have an eclectic approach grounded in proven therapeutic models. I have studied and participated in advanced post-graduate trainings in Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Gestalt models. I have explored art therapy, plant medicine, breathwork, and energy modalities. This combination of approaches has taught me to look below the surface to uncover and heal the roots of my client's struggle. My focus I've been working with clients since 2004. Stemming from my passion for this work, I began training new therapists in 2010. I've taught graduate-level therapy university students since 2011 and have supervised therapists since 2013. I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Adult ADHD / Neurodiversity, Trauma, Women's empowerment, LGBTQ, Life Transitions, Self-Esteem, and Relationship Issues. My communication style I have a warm, supportive style with a healthy dose of directness, swearing and humor. You will be accepted as an extraordinary individual with unique experiences and strengths that will guide the change process.
