My name is Cheryl Musson and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1999, so I have been working in this field for many years. While in college, I dedicated myself to a 2 year commitment to AmeriCorps, which is a national program assisting populations in the United States, similar to the Peace Corps overseas. After graduation, I worked in several community mental health centers. I have experience working with military families providing intensive in-home therapy on base. I worked within the primary school system providing services to children from early childhood through high school. For the last 15 years, I have worked as the clinical supervisor in the behavioral division of a major health insurance company, so I am familiar with the link between physical and mental health.

I am an open and non-judgmental person and that carries over into my professional practice. I have been told that I am easy to talk too and non-threatening. I am a strong woman, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and Nonna to my grandchildren. I believe that laughter is good medicine and hugs are healing. If you choose to work with me, we will be utilizing some solution focused therapy methods. This approach focuses less on the presenting problems and more on finding solutions that meet your needs. Since you are the expert on you, we will work as a team, like the dynamite duo.

Successful therapy always starts with a relationship. I will provide a safe place for us to develop that connection based on trust and mutual respect.
