Hello! My name is Chelsea and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 10 years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial and intensive outpatient care, and private practice. I work with clients affected by depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma and relationship challenges from individual, group and family work. I have a strong background treating trauma-related diagnoses and was most recently employed in a specialty trauma-focused clinic.

Originally from Iowa, I moved to Florida to continue my work in therapy. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Family Services and my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

I use various techniques in therapy depending on your goals and desired outcomes. I enjoy utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, solutions focused therapy, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I'm also a trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapist.

Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This helps to explore dysfunctional thought patterns which lead to self-destructive behaviors and beliefs; we get to work together to change these thought patterns in order to change those behaviors and beliefs. Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I provide psychoeducation on and utilize the following skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation.
