About

I am a licensed professional counselor with certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and Domestic Violence Counseling. I have also completed both levels of Gottman Relationship Counseling Theory. I am passionate about supporting women in any milestone of life and providing my clients with tools, education, and even a safe space to vent. As a survivor of severe Postpartum Depression, Postpartum Anxiety, and Postpartum OCD, I feel like I am in a unique position to use my experience to offer a special brand of empathy and support to my postpartum clients. I am passionate about creating a space for my clients where they feel at ease and safe to share whatever is on their minds and heart. I enjoy building therapeutic relationships with my clients. In my sessions, I take the time to hear your story and understand where you are in life so I can meet you where you are. I utilize cognitive behavioral techniques to help challenge any intrusive thoughts, negative self-talk, or cognitive distortions. Having a baby is an altering life transition and this can have an impact on any relationship. By using different Gottman Relationship techniques, I can help you and your partner navigate any relationship difficulties you may be experiencing. When my son was born 5 years ago, I had no idea the storm of fear, sadness, anger, and anxiety I would experience for 6 months. I was scared and felt alone so I kept my pain to myself. After I finally received the help I needed, I knew my mission would be to create spaces for parents who are experiencing any postpartum mood disorder. No one should have to navigate that darkness alone and I am committed to being that person to lead you out of that darkness. I have a unique perspective on perinatal health, due to my personal history with postpartum mood disorders, and experiencing the joys and challenges of motherhood having only one child.
