About
Hello! My name is Charlotte Stanton. I recently moved to Iowa from Nebraska and am a licensed therapist in both states. I have been a therapist for about 12 years. It is my passion to help others along their journey through life. I have successfully treated clients of all ages and have experience treating a multitude of mental disorders, such as ADHD, OCD, anxiety, PTSD/C-PTSD, depression, grief, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia. I have worked with clients on the autism spectrum as well. Due to being on the spectrum myself, I can relate and empathize with the challenges that come with ASD. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and the elderly and led support groups. I am eclectic in how I approach treatment and believe that what works for one person doesn't always work for another. Most of the time, I incorporate CBT to help clients reach their goals, step-by-step. I have experience with using CBT, SFT, talk therapy/person-centered therapy, and faith/Christian-based counseling. I look forward to helping clients who need therapeutic support, whether to talk and put their life's situations and challenges into perspective, reach certain goals, or work through and heal from past traumas-- or all of the above. My clients will develop an awareness of triggers that cause certain emotions and behaviors and will develop "tools" to prevent/lessen triggers. Identifying and addressing underlying issues, working through them, and setting goals are the main components of therapy and contribute to its success. My approach I am eclectic in terms of which approaches I use. My most common approaches are SFT, CBT, and client-centered therapy. My focus I work with clients (currently teens and adults, faith-based and non-faith-based). I treat clients who experience depression, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective, schizophrenia, and grief, as well as work with clients that have autism.
