I have been a therapist since 1988 my specialty is substance use disorder, but I received additional training in depression, low self-esteem, anger management, personality disorder and anxiety disorder. The goal is to help a patient adjust to their issues and continue with day-to-day operations without letting their internal or external complications interfere with their daily responsibilities. Life is a journey and when you encounter stuck points in life as a therapist my goal is to help you develop the skills and tools to overcome the stuck points in life. Most people try to accomplish these internal or external issues alone and it can be overwhelming challenges only contributing to more despair, negative self-appreciation, repressed disappointment and uncontrollable stressors. Without a strong therapeutic support system, these issues can stagnate life opportunities. Moreover, life is short and unless you have healthy coping skills to deal with unannounced situations then perceptual distortion or fragmentation in life can set in and cause complacency with leisure activities, social interactions and family activities. Unfortunately, that can cause a domino effect within the family of origin, so people that are most important to you are concerned. Therapy has proved to be effective with life circumstances, however, most people think that they don't need others to listen to their concerns or problems in life, but I am here to listen and engage you to use your own enter strengths to help solve your own individual issues.
