About

Charity Miller, licensed marriage and family therapist, is a proudly out non-binary therapist focusing primarily on working with BIPOC folks of all genders, those in the LGBTQIA+ community, and adolescents ages 13-17. Their approach to therapy is meeting the client where they are and forming a healthy and safe working relationship as they believe the biggest catalyst for change is the therapeutic relationship. My approach They believe therapy is not "one size fits all" and will use different techniques dependent upon client's needs. However, their focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My focus Charity treats depression, anxiety, women's issues, men's issues, anger management, behavioral health issues, issues related to parenting, LGBTQIA+ issues, as well as providing mental and emotional support to transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary folks as they start their journey in gender-affirming healthcare. My communication style Charity has a very relaxed and open communication style. Their belief is if clients can be comfortable being themselves they can and will open up in therapy. Charity strives to model the communication method that cultivates and supports safety in sessions, as this is their top priority. My journey to therapy Having received therapy as an adolescent, Charity desired to help other teens in the same way they were helped. They desire to help marginalized people groups have access to quality mental health care and support as they navigate a trying and turbulent world. My goals for you Charity believes in collaborating on goals with their clients. They work with the client in order to ensure the desired area of focus is clearly identified. My first session with you During the first session, Charity strives to build rapport with their clients.
