About
Counseling is about understanding you.
The decision to seek counseling takes courage. If you are here, that means you are at a cross-road. Counseling can give you the confidence to approach that cross-road. It can help you address obstacles, create positive relationships, learn ways to develop better insight and create healthy coping mechanisms.
I am both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have owned a private practice based in Central Florida for the last 9 years. When not counseling, I teach workshops, run groups, and organize therapeutic retreats. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a secondary school teacher. I have 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the classroom and counseling setting.
I have years of experience working with a range of issues, disabilities, and diagnoses. I have specialized training in anxiety/stress disorders, OCD, CBT, group counseling, addictions (motivational interviewing), depression, LGBTQ issues, family and couples therapy, parenting, children/adolescents, grief, reality therapy, and creative therapies (art, music, play).
I try to always provide a therapeutic environment emphasizing mutual trust, honesty, and insightful dialogue. The therapeutic relationship is key and my style is interactive, collaborative, eclectic, and supportive.
