Hi, I'm Catherine Whitten, a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in Texas. Establishing a helping rapport with clients is my first priority, every person is treated with respect and dignity, and hopefully my calm and friendly demeanor will put you at ease. Don't worry, I will be appropriately honest and direct in our sessions when necessary, but that doesn't mean that there can't be some humor sometimes as well (life can be ridiculous can't it!).

I'm so glad that you made the decision to talk with someone. We all go through difficult times during our lives and sometimes feelings of sadness, anger, anxiety, etc. just don't move on the way they have before. That's when talking to a professional therapist can help the most. I've been a practicing therapist for over 8 years, and have worked with children as young as three, teens, adults, seniors, couples, and families to address the issues that they were facing. I enjoy introducing my clients to mindfulness techniques and cognitive behavioral strategies to change the behaviors that are keeping them stuck. I also use psychodynamic and family systems frameworks for conceptualizing individual and multigenerational issues. Each person's needs determine the best treatment plan, and I'm looking forward to creating that plan with you!
