About

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Tennessee and have worked in various therapeutic settings over many years. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, and relationship issues as well as coping with grief, loss, motivation, and self-esteem. I am a certified DBT therapist (C-DBT) and will incorporate these skills in our work together. This includes a focus on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

I began my clinical training in Portland, Oregon working with youth and their families who struggled with behavioral issues in the home and school settings. In this environment I was trained in various therapeutic styles including parent management training techniques and family systems theory. I have worked with Spanish speaking communities in both Tennessee and Oregon. Cultural humility and an openness to learn and grow alongside my clients fundamentally shape my practice. Much of my career has been in community mental health settings providing services for self-pay clients and those on Medicaid. My experience also extends to working within DBT skills training groups and other group settings; these have helped me understand how we heal and grow in community and through relational dynamics.
