Hi, my name is Catherine Gierszewski. I am a National Board Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin. In 2014, I earned my Masters in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have been working in counseling since 2014 in private practice and through employee assistance programs (EAP). My experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing: anxiety, stress, depression, child behavioral issues, parenting challenges, and life changes/adjustment issues.

Prior to my career in counseling, I earned a degree in early childhood education and had the pleasure of working with parents and young children for over 13 years. Today I still draw on my skills as an early childhood educator when working with adults who are having parenting challenges. I have personally experienced and overcome many life changes and challenges, which I feel adds to my therapeutic perspective. By nature I am a very positive and empathetic person. I try to incorporate positivity and empathy into all my interactions both professionally and personally.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, incorporating various techniques and philosophies to meet the unique needs of my clients. I have used Client-Centered, Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Talk Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques. I find using Client-Centered and Solution-Focused techniques helps clients feel heard, supported and empowered. It also helps them achieve their goals by changing their focus from problems to solutions.
