I am a licensed clinical social worker with 14 years of counseling experience. I work with children and adults who desire more satisfying relationships, better control over emotions, success in school and in the workplace, parenting skills, adjustment to life changes, and an overall better quality of life. I have worked in the school setting, counseling children and adolescents with behavioral challenges and social-emotional difficulties. I also work hand-in-hand with parents and caregivers who need support in managing home or school behaviors, understanding IEPs and school-based interventions, while also learning how to manage their own emotions and relationships. I have expertise in grief and loss, pregnancy loss, and helping adults and children cope with painful life changes. I help clients and families of clients with diagnoses of depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism and much more. Through a trauma-informed lens, I help families unpack the factors that maintain behaviors so that we can correct unhelpful patterns.

I am a strength-based therapist, recognizing that everyone has inherent strengths that can be used in therapy. I foster an environment of respect, collaboration, and affirmation, understanding that positive therapeutic relationships help clients achieve their goals. Therapeutic approaches I most utilize are cognitive-behavioral therapy, task centered, and crisis intervention, but modify my approach based on the needs of the client.

Personally, I have three grown children and have been married for 30 years. I was inspired to change careers after a painful personal loss and the realization that therapy can effect real change.
