About
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and have been practicing for 7 years. My experience has been working with children ages 0-18 and their families, as well as with couples as partners or co-parents. My style of therapy is based in attachment theory which means the way we're parented in in early childhood gives a road map for relationships in adolescence and adulthood. I've worked with clients with histories of trauma from abuse and neglect, experiences with loss of caregiver, issues with intimacy in connection both emotional and sexual, as well as with parents who need assistance with providing structure, routine, and developmentally appropriate discipline for their children. I believe that connection is a healer, people want to be seen, heard, and acknowledged from age 0-100. My style of therapy is warm, direct, and tailored to your needs. I like to discuss how we'll know we're ready to end therapy from the very beginning so we stay on track. I believe in a somatic approach, our bodies give us cues and our feelings are not bad or good, they're just letting us know to pay attention to what's happening in front of us-- it's our response that is either functional or dysfunctional. I really like to understand your family system, and help you reflect on how you developed certain survival skills that are potentially not working anymore. I'd love to meet and get to know you and see how I can be helpful to you in this specific time in your life.
