Hi, my name is Carolette King. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I began my career with CASA, as an advocate for children in the foster care system. My love for helping vulnerable populations led me to pursue a career with DaVita, where I have provided counseling, and case management to chronically ill clients since 2017. Come talk to me, I am here to help. Together we will work on strategies that allow you to explore your foundations, current experiences, and potential, while learning coping techniques to use when you need them the most. Healing is a shared effort that requires genuine caring without judgment, and I supportively assist my clients in defining their goals for treatment. Rather than adopting one approach for all individuals and issues, I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored treatment plan for each client. I understand that patients from diverse cultures may communicate distress differently, so I strive to maintain multicultural competence in treatment. Because Black and Brown clients often face racial and ethnic disparities in mental health care, I specialize in issues that impact these communities. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and with diverse clients, including both long-term and brief interventions. I have experience counseling clients who struggle with:
Anxiety, Mental and emotional impact of Racial Disparities, Grief and Loss, Chronic pain or illness, and Substance Abuse. I also have experience working with teens and TAY struggling with school-life balance, self-esteem, social anxiety, and more. My treatment style is warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist, combining experience, education, creativity, and a sense of humor with a down-to-earth, approach to counseling to build a relationship of trust and respect with all my clients.
